The unique dial of Redentore Historia Temporis draws inspiration from an ancient Venetian coin minted between 1684 and 1688, known as the "Osella." This name originates from the dialectal term for female ducks, renowned for their delicate taste and were part of a traditional annual gift presented by the Doge of Venice. Later, as it became challenging to procure wild game, "Oselle" coins were minted to preserve the original significance of the gesture.

To craft the dial, we digitized an 17th-century coin, transferring its shape onto a matrix of hardened steel. From this, we obtain brass blanks using the minting technique. After removing metal residues, we proceed to the aging phase through the application of mineral oils. This intricate artisanal process replicates the aging of vintage coins, providing Redentore Historia Temporis with a gratifying and highly desired appearance.

Marcantonio Giustinian, the 107th Doge of Venice from 1684 to 1688, is renowned for his determined management of a plague epidemic, advocating for health and quarantine measures. He was also a patron of the arts, contributing to the cultural heritage of Venice. During his dogeship, he minted the "Osella", featuring Piazza San Marco, the coin that inspires Redentore Historia Temporis, paying homage to this significant part of Venetian history.
