Turquoise is an opaque gemstone with shades ranging from sky blue to aqua green. Admired since antiquity for its natural beauty and symbolic value, it is composed mainly of copper and aluminum. Its porous surface, crossed by irregular veins, makes each specimen unique. Rich in history, turquoise has always been associated with balance, mental clarity, and a deep connection with the elements of nature.

During the Middle Ages, turquoise arrived in Venice thanks to trade routes that connected Persia, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean. Valued for the intensity of its color and its symbolic meaning, it was traded in Venetian workshops alongside silks and spices. Local goldsmiths and artisans transformed it into jewelry and ritual objects, helping to make Venice a key crossroads in the diffusion of this stone between East and West.

Turquoise requires meticulous and delicate processing, in line with its fragile nature. Cold cutting makes it possible to shape the stone without compromising its integrity, producing thin slabs ideal for dial making. This is followed by finishing and polishing phases using fine-grain abrasives, which give the material a compact, luminous surface that enhances its natural expressiveness.

The shades of the lagoon on the wrist
The natural turquoise dial reflects light with unique nuances, evoking the brightest colors of the Venetian lagoon. Its irregular veins recall stone submerged in water, making each watch one of a kind. The light blue strap echoes these tones and reinforces the connection to the sea, creating a timepiece that captures the authentic essence of Venice: vibrant, luminous, and constantly evolving.

Born from an iconic submarine
The Nereide submarine, which inspired the entire collection, is depicted in submerged navigation in the engraving at the center of the caseback. It serves as a reminder that this watch does not compromise on diving performance, maintaining a water resistance of up to 200 meters and featuring a rotating bezel to track dive times.
